Treatment

A number of treatment modalities exist to manage and reverse the morbidity from OSA. These include:

• Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) - the Gold Standard for treating sleep apnea
• Positional therapy - tools to help keep you sleeping off your back
• Weight loss, diet, exercise and avoidance of alcohol and sedatives
• Oral appliances - manually keeping the airway open - considered for those intolerant to CPAP
• Surgery - several different procedures exist for patients failing other treatment options
